Tip of the Day
Today's tip of the day is actually something I just learned myself. It is very important that you not only wash your face at night, which was what I was doing, but to also wash it in the morning. The reason for this is because when you are sleeping all the toxins and sweat are coming out of your pores and if you don't wash your face in the morning then that just gets mixed in with the makeup you are applying. Not only that but makeup lays much better on a clean face.
I learned this from Jaclyn Hill if you want to check out her youtube channel I will put the link below:

Tip of the Day
Today's tip of the day is all about blending. Blending is one of the most essential parts to proper makeup application. A simple rule when it comes to this is one my friend taught me. She said, "Blend until you can hardly stand it and then blend some more." There is no such thing as to much blending. The main things you will want to make sure you always blend is your foundation, eye-shadow, bronzer, blush, and highlighters. There are certain makeup looks where you will want to blend your eyeliner as well. Please feel free to comment if you have any questions or things to add.

Tip of the Day
Today's tip of the day is a really simple and easy one that doesn't cost any money and anyone can do it. Whenever you are using your finger to apply anything to your eyes, whether its cream, primer, eye-shadow etc. make sure you always use your ring finger. The reason for this is, the skin on your eyelids is extremely delicate and fragile and your ring finger is the weakest finger, thus it puts a lot less pressure on your lids.
Starting up Again :P
Okay so I realize that I haven't posted for an extremely long time. Shame on me!! Life has been really crazy for the last few months but things have slowed down now and I have a lot more time. I am going to start this new thing on the blog called "Tip of the Day". What I will do is everyday share a little makeup tip I have found helpful. I will also try and post new makeup looks and tutorials as well as reviewing products. I am really going to work hard at posting everyday. Thanks to anyone who checks my blog out!!

Foundation
So today I want to talk about foundation. Foundation is a bit like mascara, in that there are so many different kinds and it really depends on your skin type. You really have to play around with it to find what works for you, but I wanted to share with you two that have worked well for me. The first one is CoverGirl's Clean oil control. It provides a heavy coverage but comes in fair colours (which is good for me because I am as pale as a ghost). Another benefit of this foundation is that it is inexpensive and you can find it at your local drug store. Things that I don't like about it is that it does not match my face as well as I would like. That being said it probably depends on the shade of your skin as well. Another thing that I don't like is that it feels heavy on your face and it is easy to make it look cakey if you are not careful. One last thing that I don't like about it is that it does not blend as well and it is easy to have harsh lines along the outside of your face. Now I know that it seems more bad than good but what I am trying to say is that this foundation can look amazing but it requires a bit more effort to get it there. The second foundation that I like is the Urban Decay Naked. I love this one because it blends amazingly and it matches my skin almost perfectly. Another thing I like about it is although it is a light-weight foundation it builds well. What I don't like about it is, it costs around forty dollars and you can (as far as I know) only get it at Sephora. All in all for both foundations you get what you pay for.

The Staples
Just like your closet your makeup bag should have some staples. The staple that I am going to talk about today is a good base eye-shadow. Anytime you are doing eye-shadow you have one colour that you put across you whole eye-lid. This eye-shadow is essential to how your look turns out even though at the end it is probably not what you notice. So the base eye-shadow that I am going to recommend to you is the M.A.C. pigment in vanilla. I honestly use this in almost every eye-shadow look that I do. I find that M.A.C. eye-shadow, though fairly expensive, is the best quality and you really do notice a difference in the long run. Okay so some things that I love about this eye-shadow: one, it is a very pretty neutral colour, but because it is a pigment it is very shimmery which I find gives some life to your eyes, and two, it blends easily with other eye-shadows allowing them both to retain their colour. Like I said you can find this at M.A.C. and although the initial price is more expensive, (I think it was around $40) it is worth it, because, one you can use it in so many different looks, and two, because it lasts forever. Honestly, I have had this pigment for about three years and I use it a lot. One more thing about this product is that if you cannot afford the more expensive eye-shadows this one will make cheaper eye-shadows look like they are higher quality.

Illegal Length
Perhaps one of the toughest things to find in makeup is a good mascara. We all change our brand up so many times, searching for "the one". We want it to be affordable, making our eyelashes look full and long, all the while without clumping. Now reviewing a mascara is hard, because every person has different needs and wants when they are searching for just the right brand. So I am just going to share with you the mascara that has worked extremely well for me. The mascara is Illegal Length by Maybelline New York. The way it works is it adds fiber extensions to your lashes. I really love this mascara because it doesn't clump and it makes my eyelashes so long. Another aspect of this product that I love is it really separates you eyelashes. I would recommend this mascara to you if you are looking for a mascara that gives you length and one that separates your lashes. One downside of Illegal Length is it really doesn't give you any volume. Because of this I would not recommend this to you if you have thinner eyelashes. You can find this brand at most drug stores and the cost is around $8.00.

Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion
So the first thing that I want to recommend is the Urban Decay eye shadow primer. This is honestly one of the greatest parts of my makeup collection. It is amazing at making your eye shadow last a really long time. I have even slept with all my makeup on (which is very bad for your skin and I would not recommend it at all) and while the rest smudged and creased, my eye shadow looked almost as if I had just applied it. It also evens out your eyelids; so if you have a lot of veins in your eyelids like I do, or they are a bit discoloured in anyway this will even them right out. The only place that I know of that you can get this product is Sephora which is in most large malls or you can go on their website and buy it online (http://www.sephora.com/). This product is C$24.00 and it is definitely worth the price you pay. You only need to use the tiniest little bit and it lasts forever. Overall this product makes your eye makeup last a long time and evens out any imperfections on your eyelid.
Starting Out
So I have been thinking for some time about doing a makeup blog and I finally decided to try it out. This will pretty much be my first blog so bear with me as I figure it out. The main idea for this blog is to post makeup products I love and ones that I think are not worth the money you pay for them. Also I would like to post makeup looks that I am trying on myself as well as other people and to share helpful makeup tips that I have come across. Hope you all enjoy.
